What type of headaches do these sound like?

I'm a 19 year old male, and I've been suffering from severe headaches for over 2 years. They are usually throbbing constant pains behind my eyes, or behind my temples, and sometimes they just feel like they're coming from the center of my skull. I'm also extremely sensative to light when i have them. I've been to several head specialists and doctors and they all end up doing the same thing for me, proscribing some random medicine that doesn't do anything. I've been on every type of migraine pill out there, topamax, Zoimg immitrex, amitriptyline, you name it. Over the counter drugs like Tylenol, Aleve and Excedrin don't do anything for me. The only thing that really seems to help me is Vicodin. But, because of my age it's unlikely a doctor would prescribe it to me.

Does anyone have any experience with these type of headaches, do these really seem like migraines or tension headaches? It's getting to the point where its seriously interfering with my daily life and i need to find a solution.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I have seen a neurologist multiple times, the first time he insisted that it was my sinuses and put me on prescription Clarition daily. It wasn't doing much at all for my headaches, so i went back about a month later and he then insisted that it was migraines, and put me on immitrex. More visits ensued, and like I said i've been on every type of migraine relief medicine out there. as well as multiple sinus pills.

I just recently went back and had a CT scan scheduled, I should have the results by the end of week. Hopefully they can find some sort of lead from these results, because I'm having these pulsating headaches daily and it's getting old fast.

Hi,

Thanks for writing.
It will help us to know if the possibility of sinusitis has been looked into or not. Chronic sinusitis can cause pain behind the eyes, temples and some degree of light sensitivity also.
It will show up on CT scan or MRI of brain. Have you undergone a CT or MRI of head recently?

Thanks
