Will post-surgical / infection nerve irritation ever end?

Will post-surgical / infection nerve irritation ever end?

Here are the general facts about my case.
-I am 34, female, very healthy & athletic. 2 c-sections (2001 & 2003)
-hired a reputable cosmetic surgeon in my area by referral. He said I was a perfect candidate & no lipo would be needed
-full tuck & muscle plication done April 28
-May 7, I began suddenly having horrible abdominal cramping & spasming. Went to ER the next day because they wouldn't stop. CT scan done, no problems found, sedated & sent me home.
-terrible stomach pains, a feeling of writhing & cramping continued for the next 2 weeks. Gradually I stopped eating. I called my surgeon during this time & he said “twitching” was normal & prescribed a stronger pain-med, which was useless. By this time, I literally felt like I was dying. I couldn’t get out of bed & spent much of the time in a state of near-delirium. The pain was horrendous.
-went in for follow-up visit 2 weeks after ER visit, at which time doc noted that the stuff in my drain was cloudy. Prescribed anti-biotic, took fluid sample for testing. This was on a Friday.
-went back in on Monday & was informed that I had bad staph infection throughout abdomen & needed surgery to clean out ASAP. Had that done the next day (May 24) Doc (original surgeon) said he didn’t see anything else wrong while he was in there.
-upon my return home, I was prescribed Levaquin antibiotic, which I took faithfully, along with Robaxin & ibuprofen as directed.
-The major problem now is that while the infection has cleared , my abdomen is not doing much better. I went to my primary doc 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotics, who said that this is obviously nerve damage—finally someone knew what was going on! She prescribed amitriptyline and gabapentin. These meds do take some of the “bite” off the nerve jolts and have slowed it down some, but I am still in extreme discomfort & cannot function normally. I am so terribly miserable—my life has literally ground to a stop. The nerves are almost constantly bumping & twitching, and approximately 30 times a day (average) they “jolt”—hard, sudden, stabbing pain, like an electric shock.
None of the docs (primary or pain management) will give me any indication on whether these nerves will eventually heal, or if this is going to go on forever. I can't find any info about it online, as all my googling brings up information about shingles infections. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello? Anyone? This is what I was afraid of- that no one would have any experience dealing with this kind of thing. I can't find much at all anywhere on the internet about similar problems. Was hoping someone here might have some insight.
