Woke up with water gushing out of my nostrils

Hi there all,

Last night I woke up to the sensation that my nostrils were gushing out water. I woke up and sat up quickly, and leant over and water gushed out of my nostrils. This is the first time this has ever happened and was curious and worried as to why this had occured.

This could be a spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak. The most common symptoms of a CSF leak includes a watery drainage from the nose or a salty taste in the back of the throat. Check with your doctor.

It may not have been water. Is it possible your sinuses were draining?
