Zoning out

Hi. I do this thing where I'll just be going throughout my day and I just severely zone out. Like, I can see everything that's happening around me but I can't hear anything. I'll see that people are talking to me but there's no sound. And then after a few seconds, everything's back to normal. When this happens, apparently I get all pale, my head twitches, and my eyes roll back. And afterwards, I get a nauseous kind of feeling. Can anyone tell me what this could be because I've tried researching it an nothing I find fits it. I just want to know.

Thanks for your input but when it does happen, there's no red or flashing lights. It kinda just happens. This might sound a little off but I'll get an overwhelming sense of déjà vu and that's when I'll zone out. It's not by any lights. And sometimes, I can actually stop it from happening. I'll feel it coming on and I can just push the feeling away and everything will be fine. Is there anything else you can tell me?

As Red_Star stated, it sounds as if you have experienced a variety of siezure. These are sometimes called "petit mal". In any event, you require a proper in-person evaluation by a neurologist. As soon as possible. Physicians do not always treat these siezures with medications (not at the beginning, anyway), but they often increase in severity and number. Often they are caused by flickering lights, especially red lights. Perfectly normal helicopter pilots have experienced them viewing sunlight through the blades. You don't want to cause an automobile accident, or accidentally fall off a subway platform. Sometimes a cause can be found. An MRI or CT scan is certainly indicated. Sometimes people have these for several months and then they mysteriously disappear.

Sounds like a simple partial seizure.
