I take 200mg of zoloft daliy for like 10 yrs for severe depression. Ive been taking norco more then I should for 2yrs. Is it true the pain killers have been making my zoloft not really work? I believe I'm lacking in dopamine from my depression, does the norco stop it even more? Is there a supplement or something I can take to help my receptors get back to normalNormal saline flush quicker, or give me extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief dopamine boost? Which one I'm misssing.
I stoped for 30 days, I was clean. Then I had to have 2 more surgeries so for the last 2 months I was on them again. I quit again this week. Should it be easier this time?
Thanks
I'm no scientist, but since I take Zoloft and Codeine, along with some other medicines, I know a little bit about their effects from reading and experience, and so I can tell you that getting a little sleepier is all that happens when combining your two drugs. They do not drain some imaginary tank of dopamine or serotonin or anything else like that. Some illegal drugs do, specifically Ecstacy used long-term can damage the brain and this can be seen in an MRI, and Meth can flatten emotions.
In answer to your question, there are herbal supplements that help some people in a similar way to your Zoloft, one of which is St. John's Wort, but I'm not sure you're supposed to take that with your prescribed medicines, you'll have to ask your doc. Also, potassium helps with neurotransmission (which is what your drugs affect), bananas and broccoli have that in it, but they do not give an emotional high like your drugs do. Coffee will give you a temporary lift because it has so much caffeine in it. And exercise releases endorphins, which make a person feel good.
I'm not sure which medicines you have quit, but you asked if quitting previously will make it easier this time, and I can tell you that it doesn't do that, other than you have a frame of reference for what it's going to feel like with the withdrawals. By the way, there is nothing wrong with taking your Norco, and if anything it's safer than the SSRI, but that's just my personal opinion.
