The MRI was prompted because he passed out at work. Aside from the MRI of the brain they also found a pin head size hole in his heart. His blood pressure was high when he entered the hospital but is sable now.
Unfortunately, this ischemic word gets thrown into most MRI's when they do not have a clue. Remember, the radiologist does not have your grandson's history of sx and prior tests as well as clinical exam.
Does your grandson have a hx of high b/p, high chiolesteral, over weight? What prompted the MRI? The neurologist should view the MRI for himself! Was the MRI done both with and without contrast? What blood work has he had done?
Remember you are your own best advocate!
