: : The only way i know how to describe the muscle jumping is that the muscle jumps in my upper leg and the whole upper part of my leg jumps. My husband can feel it all night and while we are relaxing by the TV.The same thing with my arm and every other muscle! Ive even had where my neck kind of twitches and moves my head. Also i forgot to mention that i also have noticed problems with my memory. Thankyou for listening and sorry about not giving you enough info.

: What does it mean when the whole leg jumps up usually in a relaxed state?
When I have sat down and reated for a few minutes and allowed my muscles to relax then the jumping of my muscles start.

Jerking of limbs is sometimes very hard to figure out, and often there is no substitute for seeing it in person in order to make a diagnosis. We consider phenomena called dystonia and myoclonus, which probably have different mechanisms, which is why it's important for neurologists to distinguish the two. It is possible that your jerking is neither one, but something else entirely.
I can't interpret the memory problems - don't know if it's related to the jerking or not without more data.
Putting it all together for you will require face-to-face contact. I wish I could be of more help. You are welcome to call 800 223-2273 and ask for neurology appointmetns at 4-5559. Or, if Cleveland Clinic is too far away, find a large academic medical center near you and contact their neurology department. Ask if they have movement disorders specialists.
