adverse quinolones reaction

adverse quinolones reaction

I took floxin and cipro and had a reaction to the floxin, then I took cipro immediately following the reaction to floxin.
Knowing now that floxin/cipro can cause tendon rupture, I experienced a burst of pain in the back of my head on the left side just above the base of my skull. I have been dizzy since, not like true vertigo but woozy. Is there anything there that can rupture. The experience was like an explosion. I have had a mri of the brain which came back negative. My head feels like it is has pressure inside
Dear Linda:
There are a few reports of tendon damage with the quinolones.  However, since your MRI was normal it is very doubtful that your burst of pain was the tendon rupturing.  The MRI would pick this up.  The dizziness is one of the more common side effects of the quinolones.  With time, this should resolve.  I hope your getting better.
Sincerely,
