anemia

In March, 2009 I was told I was anemic.  Doctor could never determine cause and put me on iron pills.  About six months later checked blood and it was just over level for anemia so was told to get off the pills.  Now anemia is back. Iron profiles shows it is not due to low iron.  Doctor says have a low iron saturation and to get back on iron pills.  If it is not due to iron deficiency why take the iron pills and get the iron level even higher.  Will the pills help the saturation level?  Also said I may need a bone marrow biospy, but wants to wait 6 months and see how I am then.  Should I  be concerned and try to have this checked by someone else sooner.  Just don't want to wait to long and be sorry.
