ankle pain

had onset of acute ankle pain in april, was like knives in the ankle and numbness on surface of foot.. had mri and was told i had sciatica from bulging disc at L5/S1, although there was no change on the mri from the 3 previous ones over the last 2 years. had private spinal massage and physio and had no symptoms since end of june. have now had onset of pain in ankle (no numbness on foot) and the pain is a strong ache rather than sharp.this appeared after i had a spasm in the hip whilst getting into the car. when walking the pain intensifies and the calf tightens and becomes painful. the doctor says its recurrent from the L5/S1 bulge. i feel that there is something else going on but can not seem to get a medical person to listen they seem to be infactuated with the disc bulge. no medical person has examined me even when i had the original pain in april. it was all can u do this, can u do that.
have not had any back pain at all during the periods, but do feel muscles at side of hip ache when i start to lean to one side when the ankle pain intensifies.
anyone have any thought?
