anxiety after fusion surgery

anxiety after fusion surgery

I am suffering from anxiety following a fusion at L5-S1. My surgery was three weeks ago. I had lap BAK. I am currently taking Lorcet 10, Robaxin, and Ambien 10 mg. Could these meds be contributing to the problem? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the question. I guess the first question would be to ask if you were on any of these medications before the surgery? If you have previously been on these medications then it is less likely. The ambien has been reported to cause anxiety and should only be used for short periods of time. Long term use of this medication is not recommended. Lorcet can also cause anxiety it it to should have limited use. I'm not sure that anxity is listed as a side affect of robaxin but it is possible. The sooner you can off these medication the better, but you should discuss your concerns with your doctor so that you can come up with a plan to control your anxiety.
