arm pain

I'm a very healthy 44 year old female. this morning i wake up and my entire left arm is throbbing. Aside from possibly sleeping wrong on it, makes me very worried, as I do not have any health conditions. I have no grip, cannot raise my arm to dress, tender to the touch. the pain is most intense above the elbow on the back side of my arm. to bend the arm is almost an impossibility. and in the past hour it is now gotten to my wrist where it is even hard to bend my wrist. do i go to the dr? will a dr even know or do i need exrays? i don't have a clue what to do.

Hi,
There could have been a nerve compression in the neck or upper back leading to the symptoms of arm pain and sensitivity to touch. Please go for X ray of the shoulder joint and MRI of the spine and arm and consult an orthopedician and neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
