i have autonomic disorder and was wondering about being able to go back to work i work on my feet 12 hours in a long term care. i lift  people all night

Hi there. The outcome of autonomic disorder is variable depending on the cause. If the cause can be detected and treated the nerves, may repair or regenerate.  There can be complications like fluid or electrolyte imbalances, postural dizziness, kidney failure, psychological effects of impotence. You need to be concerned and wait for treatment if you have fainting or light-headedness when standing, changes in bowel, bladder or sexual function, unexplained nausea and vomiting when eating. The causes could be alcoholic, diabetic. Strategies for dizziness include extra salt diet and fludrocortisones to help retain salt and fluid, head end raised when sleeping, wearing elastic stockings. Treatment for reduced gastric motility includes drugs to increase gastric motility, head end raised and small frequent meals.  Consult your neurologist to assess the deficit and treat likewise.
