avm and basilar artey troubles

I am a 46 year old female who was diagnosed with a rigth frontal lobe avm and a very narrow basilar artery by diamond headache clinic in my early 30's. Over the years I have had temporary vision loss (complete) for a day and hearing loss on one side for two weeks. I more recently have had heart problems, missed beats in the left venticle and sometimes my heart beat is slow and my blood pressure low. They have not found any reason for this. I also very recently have had visual troubles(seeing things that are not there), dizziness, mucle weakness sometimes to the point of not being able to walk and somtimes I collaspe. I experience sharp pains in different spots on my head sometimes frontal either side sometimes in the back of my head. Is some of what I'm experiencing due to my avm and basilar artery problems and could this also be affecting my heart?

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

I am sorry to hear that you are going through with all this. Arterio-venous malformation (AVM) is a congenital anomaly in which an abnormal connection between arteries and veins in brain can occur. Therefore, common symptoms could be headache, dizziness, feeling of abnormal sensation, difficulty in performing daily activities and vertigo. Though there is no sure success treatment, but symptomatic treatment may provide some relief in recurring symptoms.  Embolization that is cutting of the blood supply may provide some relief in small AVMs but still not a proven therapy. I would suggest you to meet your treating doctor for symptomatic treatment option in your case. Hope this helps.
