avoiding back pain/neck pain

I have undergone sugery for cervical spondilysis (laminectomy and discetomy c3,c4) a year back.what are the precautions to be taken now to avoid further complications and pain. I  also have lower back pain( 3,4,5 canal stenosis)  which i have gone for physiotherapy for about 15 days.Now what are the precautions to be taken so that it may not occur in future, My job require work on computers for eight to nine hours.
