axonopathic motor neuropathy

my father is 55 years old from egypt.......since aproximatly 2 years he begane to complain from weakness in his legs the force to move them began to decrease....the electrophysiological reports show that the case either axonopathic motor neuropathy or ant. horn cell disorder.........the other phisiologic findings are all soo good in the whole body.......i want to knwo what are these disorders.....if there is any treatment..where the centers treating these cases inorder to get treatment .......& how can i communicate with these centers

Hello.

Simply put, these are the two disorders of the motor neurons. The motor neurons are the nerve cells which are responsible for the actions and movements of the muscles. The anterior horn is a place in the spinal cord where the motor neurons travel up and down the spinal cord.

In the case of motor neuron disease, unfortunately there is no cure to date. But the progression of the disease can be controlled with judicious treatment.

Any hospital with a Neurology Department should be a good place to visit.
