i have a leg that aches all the time it seems to come from my lower back I have had mri nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity conduction(test results were the same for both legs), rhRh incompatibility test, vascularArteriosclerosis of the extremities Birthmarks - red Dementia Heart disease Intravascular ultrasound Mesenteric artery ischemia Renovascular hypertension Replantation of digits Stroke Tobacco and vascular disease Vascular headaches studies, about everything possible and they cant find the reason. It used to be in my right leg and i fell two years ago going down the steps and landed on my butt and the next morning my left leg was asleep. This lasted for 3 days. now the leg is much weaker than the other and aches all the time. I walk and try to work out. I walk with a severe limp. I take narotic pain relievers and it still hurts. I have taken lyrica, anti depresants, muscle relaxers, narcoticDrug abuse painrelievers, steroids and nothing seems to make it go away. The pain relievers work a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys but they are just a bandaid. They simply mask the problem where it is not as severe. I am so fusterated because no one seems to know what the problem is. It feels like its in the waking up stage where it aches and feels very heavy . i also have joint pain in most other joints that they dont know what is causing it. The pain is very real and has disrupted my entire life. It I could just fix the leg thing i think i could stand the other pains. When I sit for any period of time it goes entirely to sleep. I wake up with the pain. it hurts the least when i am lying down with my leg elevated at the knee but when i am still for anyperiod of time all my other joints lock up. I had a masectomy two years ago also because of breast cancer and have quit take\ing the hormone therapy because it intensified the joint pain so much. Sometimes I think i would be better off dead cause i am so tired of the pain.
Fighting multiple medical problems is a difficult way but sometimes the most difficult thing is there is no aetiology for some problems.
As for your breast cancer it was diagnosed and you are well off with the cancer.
The leg problem emanated after the fall and due to complications you developed and later part you have intensified your problem and there is no clear diagnosis to go in a proper line of treatment.
I would advice you to follow up near a good neurologist to come to proper diagnosis and treatment.
Keep trying and pain killers should only be used intermittently. Take care!

Hi,
It is not clear whether you had an MRI of the leg or the hip joint . I would suggest an MRI of the hip joint and spine . It seems that there is a peripheral nerve trauma due to the fall . An injury can also cause leg pain from: A torn or overstretched muscle (strain) ,Hairline crack in the bone (stress fracture) ,Inflamed tendon (tendinitis) ,Shin splints -- pain in the front of your leg related to overuse or repetitive pounding , Sciatic nerve pain (radiating pain down the leg) caused by a slipped disk in the back. I would also suggest a consultation with an orthopaedic surgeon and neurologist to find out the cause .The pain in the joints may be due to arthritis and osteoporosis . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
