back surgery complications

I had sugery to correct scoliosis in 2011, and had two rods inserted up to my shoulder blades. My spine is now collapsing above the rods. I am told that this will continue to get worse. Has anybody had this problem and what is the solution?

Hi there!

Well, without knowing the relevant clinical details or a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation.  Degenerative changes are usually progressive and may be managed by conservative measures such as physiotherapy; or surgical or interventional procedures, depending on the severity. It would be best to discuss the situation, the management options and the expected prognosis in detail with your treating doctor.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
