behavior after surgery

My husband had a 99% blockage in the right carotid artery. He is now one week post surgery for this. He continues to experience headaches, and is exhibiting very angry behavior.  About 24 hours after surgery he had a CAT scan which was normal.  Is this behavior normal after carotid artery surgery?

he is on dilantin and nexium. i can't get his hard head to go back to the DR. he went a couple months ago and they said eveything was normal but he's having some issues and i wonder if it might be related to lowering his dose. not sleeping, nerves bad, sometimes it's like his mind is just scattered  and not concentrating on any one thing

Hi,

You need to talk to his doctor about his symptoms.

Are the serum eloctrolyte levels within the normal range?

Do any of the other blood tests done show any abnormality?

Is his blood pressure in the normal range?

What medications is he on at present?

Do let us know the answers to the above questions.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
