bone spur

: Thank you for your prior responses. My question this time is regarding a bone spur. My PCP has just informed me that not only do I have a herniation of C&, but a bone spur formation there. Would this cause some kind of nerve compression.that causes the extreme pain around shoulder blade, upper arm, elbow, and down to the hand? Also, what are the treatment options? If you can, please reply before the 7th, as that is my appt, for the neurosurgeon. I'm the one with RSD, MS, and the herniated disk, and am on neurontin. Thank you once again.

It is not uncommone for bone spurs to occur in the context of disc herniations and this leads to increased pressure on the nerve roots and spinal cord which can lead to many symptoms including pain and numbness.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!
