brachial plexus pain and DREZ procedure

by MarkedPain, Nov 02, 2008 12:30AM
I was in a horrible accident in 1996 and left with excruciating pain from traumatic brachial plexus injury and a crush injury.  There haven't been any treatments that have been effective.  The only seemingly available treatments left to try are implants or a DREZ procedure.  I have only recently learned about the DREZ procedure.  I believe its goal its to cauterize the nerve root.

Does anyone know more information or has had the procedure performed?  A study I found indicated 80% of the patients who had the procedure performed on them reported positive results and 70% were positive 3 years out.  I wonder if it was 70% of the total or 70% of the 80% or 56%?

Either way, if the results are this positive, even at 56%,  I am just stunned that no one ever discussed this procedure.
