brain cyst question

Hello~
My 10 year old daugher was recently diagnosed with cystic encephalomalcia.  We have not yet been to the neurlogist, found out this evening.  The MRI results state: "There is an area of cystic emcephalomalacia involving the posterior aspect of the right perietal lobe.  There is a global volume of loss of the right hemisphere compared to the left however, lateral ventricular size is similar.  There is no evidence of restricted diffusion to suggest accute process.  There is no abnormal contrast enhancement.  Findings likely represent a remote subtle encephalocalistic event.  Impression: there is an area of cystic encephalomalacia involving the right hemisphere which is globally small.  No acute abnormality recognized."  What exactly does this mean?  Can this progress?  Symptoms include headaches.  Has history of left hemiplagia and smaller limbs on left side.  I am worried, the waiting for an appt. with neurologist is agonizing.  Any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.
