bruising after muscle cramps

bruising after muscle cramps

I have been lifting weights for about 16 years now. In the past year or less I have been experiencing severe painful muscle cramping mostly in my abdominal muscles and obliques and around my rib cage. Within the past week I have  had cramps in my calves and abdominals, and they both became bruised. I take a multi vitamin in the morning and one before I go to bed. I try to drink water through out the day and during my workouts. Any suggestions what this could be caused from? Do I need more water?
