buring skin

buring skin

My husband wakes up in the middle of the night and needs to go pee.  After he pees and gets back in bed then he feels like his skin is in fire from the inside out.  It takes him about an hour before he "cools" internally enough to go back to sleep.  During the day, his skin only bothers him when he sits back in a chair--usually the skin on his back not on the butt or legs.  We have had several urine tests run--nothing.  Blood tests run--nothing.  We even had a sonagram on his kidneys and it didn't show anything.  Our regular doctor tells us he is out of ideas as to what do do next.  Do you have any suggestions for us.  This started after he had the shingles about 1 1/2 years ago but it has gotten a lot worse and it all over the back now--not just on the side where the shingles were located.

Hi,
The symptoms of skin burning, that gets aggravated in some particular postures may be related to spinal nerve compression in the back. Please go for MRI of the spine and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. The cause of spinal nerve compression could be vertebral disc degeneration, disc protrusion or herniation, disc prolapse, spinal stenosis and many others. Physiotherapy and/ or surgery may relieve the symptoms. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
