burning feet, arms, legs, face & eyes (nerve pain)

by daggs, Apr 08, 2008 08:00AM
My partner's condition has been getting progressivesly worse over the last couple of years and we can not help but think the outcome is going to be bleak.  He has had all the tests that are possible and is on all the same medication that everyone else that has this condition is on. Nothing works for very long.  Today he was prescribed a stonger dose of Norspan patch. He started out with the 5mg then progressed to the 10mg and today he is on the 15mg along with all the other medication. I just wonder how much damage all the drugs that he is on, is doing to him as well.  David was always a good spirited sole, full of life and a good laugh, but all this is changing.  The pain is so unbearable most of the time. He owns his own business and employs a number of people and worries like crazy wondering how he is going to keep it going. Each day is a sturggle and it sure shows. Isn't there anyone out there that can help us?

I had the samething your partner has.  I was low in the B12 vitamin.  I am a total
vegetarian and was neglecting my B's.  How is your partner doing with his diet?
Could be a nutritional deficiency.

Here's a new one re burning feet and legs.  This has been happening to me the past couple of months and strangely enough, it happens when I am having burning in the vaginal area......a UTI, yeast infection, or worse (I have a doctor's appt. but previous experience tells me it won't help).  I can't find anything on the web that suggests anyone else has these simultaneous symptoms.

Anyone?

Hi everybody

I joined this site so I could tell you what has caused the awful burning I have suffered from for ten years or more.  For me it is a combination of thyroid issues plus ingesting too much caffeine.  I did a Google search and discovered that caffeine irritates the nerves.  I was so desperate I decided to try going without caffeine and it worked!  After 9 days caffeine free, the burning had gone away.  Some people either become sensitive to caffeine or their system can't tolerate the levels they are ingesting.  My thyroid levels were out of whack also, although not by much.  The Amercian Association of Clinical Endocrinologists now says that the highest level for TSH should be 2.5 and that applies to both men and women.  These are 2 areas that definitely affect nerves.  Diet can also play a huge part in most medical conditions.  I know, because I have just been down this road and have found that diet controls my fibromyalgia, going without tea and coffee stops the burning and in my case it was almost soul destroying.  To find that it was mostly down to the tea I was drinking was an astounding discovery.  Going without gluten has stopped the chronic fatigue.
