burning sensations

I have been having burning sensations all over my body for the past
two months, sort of like taking a bath in Ben-Gay all of the time.
At times it gets worse, and I get ice cold or burning hot hands and feet,
but then it goes away again when I rest up a little.  I am currently
taking Elavil which was originally to help my Fibromyalgia but
also seemed to help this a little when I increased the dosage (up to 50mg
a day).  I am concerned that these symptoms don't seem typical of
fibromyalgia, but my doctor can't understand why they come and go so
much if they are something else. (several times a day)  I have had blood
tests for thyroid, liver, sugar, and B-12 with no abnormalities seen.  My
doctor did notice that I seemed to have a high temperature the last time I
was in (around 100 degrees) but didn't know if that was the cause of my
symptoms.  I just finished a round of anti-biotics for that, but haven't
noticed an improvements in my symptoms.  Do you have any ideas or
suggestions on what to try next?  Thank You.
