calcified pituitary gland

My daughter who is 12 had a mri of the brain for other reasons and they also noted she had a calcification on her pituitary gland. Is this a normal finding at her age? or is it something that should be checked every so often? Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
Calcification on Pituitary gland could mean a tumour on the gland. Please consult a neurologist for opinion on this and correlation with the clinical findings. I would suggest you to check it often because it may cause complications. Please discuss the management plan with the neurologist. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
