l have recently had an MRI HEAD which showed 17x9mm lesion in the posterior centrum ovale grey matter, the conclusion was that it represented a capillary telengiectasia/mixed venous malformation.my question is .
1.what is the function of this area of the brain
2.does this have an effect on pregnancy
3.lm on a mirena contracptive coil, cold this have an effect
4.other than ordinary painkillers is there any thing that can help
I hope you get an answer on this, esp about the birth control. I, too, had a cavernous hemaqngioma (basically what you have), but at a different part of the brain. I was under NO circumstance to have any hormones, though I do not know about the coil. If you do not get a response, you may want to cotact your OB-GYN.
Unfortunately, painkillers will not do anything. Docs will want to do an MRI every 6 mos - 1 yr. to monitor the malformation and make sure it doesn't grow. If it does or if causes you problems, surgery may be an option.
