carbotrol and vicodin?

What pain medicines are safe to take with Carbotrol er? Is vicodin safe to take with it?

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Carbamazepine is metabolized in the liver and can cause an increase in the acetaminophen (which is an ingredient of vicodin) metabolism. This can cause liver damage if you are on acetaminophen chronically or in higher doses. With all this being said, most people can tolerate the two medications, but patients do need to be monitored while on them. If your pain is tolerable, ibuprofen is a safe option.
