i want you to test yourself by doing a "prayer's test" wherein you will position your wrist as if you are praying and slightly push against each palm and hold it for 60 secs. if you feel numbness on the middle, index and thumb then you are positve. the other test is "reverse prayer" test where in you will reverse it instead the opposite side of the palm is in contact...hold it for 60 secs.. good luck. if you are positive, go to the doctor and consult physical therapy. wear a splint that you can purchase in walmart for carpal tunnel syndrome to be worn at night only. good luck..
Hi. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition which happens when the median nerve, which courses from the forearm to the hand, gets squeezed at the level of the wrist. It results initially in an intermittent burning, tingling, or itching numbness in the palm of the hand and the fingers, especially the thumb and the index and middle fingers. These symptoms are felt most acutely during the night. As symptoms worsen, people might feel tingling during the day. Decreased grip strength may make it difficult to form a fist, grasp small objects, or perform other manual tasks. If left untreated, muscle wasting in the base of the thumb can result.
