cerebral palsy/ dandy-walker

my son has cp and dw, i would like to know which caused the other to happened or can they both occur at the same time.He take phenobarital 4 his seizures is that a good medicine 4 a 20 month old baby to be taking.Should he be on meds 4 his cp, he's has spactic,athetosis and hemiplegia cp? He does not have a shunt in his head and he don't hold his head 4ward only a small amount of fluid on the brain that doesn't need surgery,could it be he has something else other than dw.it's very confussing about this please help me understand what i can do to make his life as comfortable as possible.thank you

It is DW which causes Cerebral Palsy.Phenobarbitone is a good medicine as an Anti-convulsant.But if your child is too irritable,than you can see a neurologists and ask for review of anti-seizure medication what he is on.Cerebral Palsy is a disorder which is caused by damage to the brain. It inhibits muscle control, both fine and gross. It is a non-progressive disorder.Medicine for CP,really there is no cure for damage occurred,but definitely his other vital function and his daily function can be smoothen with help of supportive medicine,like medicine for his muscles,so that ,they dont go into stiffness.Physiotherapy and occupational therapy to be consulted for his further independancy.Scan is important to know how dilatation of ventricles(cavities in brain) has occurred.Same neurologist to be consulted everytime,hence a follow up could be maintained.
