cervical spinal stenosis and sports

Hi everyone, what a great forum

I'm a 40 yr old female with spinal stenosis at c4-7, AP diameter of 7 mm, with all the associated disc herniation, etc.  2 years ago I had a posterior laminectomy and laminotomy at c5-6 for severe pain and weakness on the right upper extremity.  The surgery was great, the doctor released me to all activities, I was back at work in 4 days.

About 3 months ago I began having the same symptoms on my left, which prompted the new MRI showing the worsened stenosis and herniations.  This was ordered by my primary care doctor.  I can't get in to see the neurosurgeon for 2 months.  Here's my question --  we are going on our annual wakeboarding trip next week.  I love wakeboarding.  Would I be in danger of permanent damage if I took a bad fall (we call them "face plants", you can imagine)  I don't think my initial damage was resultant of any specific injury except for maybe repeated insults when I was a gymnast.  I don't mind a little pain, but I don't want to be a paraplegic.  

A second brief question - can nausea be a result of spinal stenosis or disc herniation?  When my symptoms (arm weakness, paresthesias, burning) are exacerbated by position or activity, I get extreme bouts of nausea that resolve when I do my home traction unit.  Or is the nausea just from the pain?  I'm trying to decide whether I should take more antiinflammatories or not (currently on one celebrex daily).

Interesting post...I have a herinieated disk in my neck....MRI soon.  I keep agrivating it with sex...sigh....I mentioned water skiing....my chiropractor about had a heart attack.  I have not told him about the sex.   Here is my home email....home emial.  ***@****
