cervical spine problems and dizzines

My boyfriend has been experiencing constant dizziness, disorientation associated with memory loss and concentration loss, depression (most likely caused by unknown condition) visual disturbances, slight spasm of the leg and shoulder pain.  We eventually got seem by a neurologist who sent him for a CT, MRI and EEG all of which are clear to our knowledge, however a kiniesiologist suggested we get his spine scanned.  The MRI on his cervical spine showed right-sided disc protrusion and associated degenerative change causing compromise of the emerging righ-sided nerve root and slight distortion of the adjacent anterior aspect of the cord.  Our physio and alternative therapists have said that this could be the reasons why he was experiencing these symptoms and it seems a bit coincidental that we were told to get the MRI and disc problems showed.  The worst affected area is C3/4 and c4/5.  It is taking a long time to get information and there is a huge grey area as it seems to be rare to exhibit these symptoms with no change in CT brain, MRI brain or EEG.  We saw an ortho. surgeon who said that he had never seen neurological symptoms with cervical problems as any problems would be distal.  We thought we had an answer and now we are totally lost.  I am trying to see whoever I can but it is getting very frustrating and hard for both of us to deal with.  I would like a second opinion as the protrusion is quite bad and the forums have been saying that dizziness is common in this instance.  I really hope someone can give us some answers.  Thank you for your help

Hi ...u may want to get copies of those reports and get a second opinion.....what does he mean distal?

Disk problems depending on how large the bulge is can affect the CSF flow and that can cause some of the symptoms u mention....and many times drs do not tell u all the MRI's reveal as they feel not all is relevant.....

I would get another opinion......
