cervical spine

I am a 40 y. old female, and I had a brain and cervical spine MRI because of tingling in right leg and arm, right arm weakness, right side of face and tongue tingling, eye pain ( not all at the same time). My doctor said that the MRI is normal. I see a couple of things on my cervical MRI, that look like MS lessions. I am not a smoker, I do not have High blood pressure, etc. Shouldn't my MRI be without any spots on it if it would be normal?

Thank you for your response,

I do get migraines sometimes, but it is my understanding that they will create spots on the brain, not on the spine. I do see something on the brain as well, but that is why I specificaly wonder about the things I see an the cervical spine.
I am no doctor, so I feel bad to question the results. Over the past 3 years all tests for Lupus, thyroid, vitamin D, B12 have all been normal so it was surprising that the MRI is also normal. Unfortunately my symptoms keep comming back and are more and more disruptive of my daly life. I just want to know what is going on and have a treatment that will cure or at least keep in check this thing.
Thank you for your time

Thank you for your answers. I will ask my doctor for EP and CSF tests. If any of those will be abnormal I will go for a second opinion.
Thing is I have a lot of symptoms that come and go and all point to MS or something like it. This is been going on for 3 years now. My fear is that if it is MS I might get disabled (sooner) without tratment.

Thank you Doctor Sharma for your time.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. Your multiple neurological symptoms are suggestive of multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic demyelinating neurological disorder where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs. Bowel and bladder symptoms include frequency of micturition, urine leakage, eye symptoms like double vision uncontrollable rapid eye movements, facial pain, painful muscle spasms, tingling, burning in arms or legs, depression, dizziness, hearing loss, fatigue etc. You have many of these symptoms. The treatment is essentially limited to symptomatic therapy so the course of action would not change much whether MS has been diagnosed or not. Apart from clinical neurological examination, MRI shows MS as paler areas of demyelination, two different episodes of demyelination separated by one month in at least two different brain locations. Spinal tap is done and CSF electrophoresis reveals oligoclonal bands suggestive of immune activity, which is suggestive but not diagnostic of MS. Demyelinating neurons, transmit nerve signals slower than non-demyelinated ones and can be detected with EP tests. These are visual evoked potentials, brain stem auditory evoked response, and somatosensory evoked potential. Slower nerve responses in any one of these is not confirmatory of MS but can be used to complement diagnosis along with a neurological examination, medical history and an MRI and a spinal tap. Take care.

Hi.....do u get migraines or bad headaches?...they can cause u to have leisons...and some may think only MS, or some other issue like lymes or lupus...I had all the tests and none were the issue.

I did get a diff dx, but u would need further testing to see what is going on.

Review ur Brain  and Cervical spine MRI's.Do u have copies of the MRI's and the reports?
