cervicalgia, myelopathy

  My neurologist recently had me undergo a mri of the cervical spine.
  Under the admitting diagnosis, he stated the diagnosis as cervicalgia and to r/o myelopathy. What are cervicalgia and myelopathy? I cannot find anything on cervicalgia and myelopathy info is too technical. I have had two strokes earlier this year. This has resulted in minimal balance and coordination problems and right-side weakness and numbness.  I also have spasticity from a brain-stem contusion that occured in a traffic accident about five years ago. I had complained that at times I have trouble catching my breath if I turn a certain way. He felt it would be prudent to have the mri performed. He indicated that he did not think this problem was stroke related.
===============================================================
These two terms are very non specific.
Cervicalgia is not a diagnosis, it is the name of a symptom, cervicalgia means " neck pain ", nothing more, very non-specific !
Myelopathy means " disease of the spinal cord ", in your case I presume that he was looking for the possibility of pressure on the spinal cord from a disc causing spasticity and neck pain.
The phrase he udsed therefore means, " neck pain, possibly due to direct damage or pressure on the spinal cord ".
An MRI scan is the best way to clarify this question.
