chiari malformation with pseudotumor cerebri

i was diagnosed with acm 4 years ago, and i had 2 decopmression surgeries. in the last year ive had 15 spinal taps for headaches and vision problems.  i have lost all of my vision in my right eye.  my doctors are talking about putting in a lumbar shunt for the ptc, but my pressure readings on each tap has not been very high, usually its about 22-28.  my vision and headaches get bettter for a couple of days afterward. does my pressure seem high enough to have a shunt put in? also the tonsils are still descending from the acm.  will so many spinal taps cause me more problems with the acm?  right now i am so miserable i dont know what to do ( diamox doesnt help, im allergic to it). does anybody have any suggestions.

I have no advice for you but wanted to ask, are you the same zachs mom who has posted questions of the forum? if so, I'd be willing to bet your symptoms you posted about are all related to the chiari.

Hey, I think there is a medical clinic in Long Island, N.Y. that specializes in Chiari Mal....google search it...you might want to try them.
