chronic carbon monoxide poisoning

ELT
Hi, I posted a question in the neurology forum on December 22nd, I haven't recieved a reply on that, yet, but, something has come up which may point in another direction.
Yesterday I had to call in the gas company.  I looked at my carbon monoxide detector, which is not in a visible location, and it had a reading of 51.  The fire department was here, also, protocol, I guess, on the gas companys part.  The fire department got a reading on the top of my water heater of 18, when the gas company read their more efficient meter, it read 68.  The appliance is in the so-called basement of my little war time house.
I read the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning on line, before calling the gas company, to see if the reading on MY meter was something to be concerned with, and read a lot of symptoms of chronic carbon monoxide poisoning which are exactly what I have been complaining to the neurologist about for the last few years.  The gas company said there was a leak from the motor area of the unit, which could have been there for hours, days, or, indeed, even years.  I had it installed ten years ago.
So, my question is, could this, instead of being multiple sclerosis, be chronic carbon monoxide poisoning?
  Thanks in advance

I also have been a chronic CO exposed victim.  I have developed many symptoms that mimic MS.  Although my neurologist, after many test tells me that it is not.  I would just like to find out where to find help.  Does anyone know.  My life and family depend on it.

Last April our CO alarm finally went off. I had been doctoring each heating season in our new home. In April 2008 I had gone to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. He stated I was so allergic to go outside to stay inside and not to open the windows. With that I became very ill. I then started to turn down our fresh air exchange. Became extremely ill, so unplugged it. That's when our CO alarm went off. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning mimics many illness's and autoimmune diseases. Doctors are not trained for toxins and poisons so they know very little on diagnoses and treatment for this. I
