Hi Dr.
I have to rush, cas i just realized i forgot i have an appointment. I use to have a really good neurolist, & his main concerns was my well being.(he passed on) Later i will go & tell you all my symptoms. I had an anuerism from toxix enchology(spell wrong) I am really ill. What do you know about physiatrics, or physiatry. (supposedly a relitively new diagnosis? ) there is no community posted yet on Med Help. Later, i will tell you some of my deliberating diseases, but i did want to get this off to you before my appointment. My short term memory is declining. Thank you. Steven
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your brother’s medical problems. Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) or chronic relapsing polyneuropathy is thought to be the chronic counterpart of Guillain-Barre syndrome. It is a rare disorder affecting the peripheral nerves, with progressive weakness of mainly legs (and sometimes arms), difficulty in walking, abnormal sensations and loss of jerks. It is caused by loss of myelin sheath of the nerve. The symptoms of CIPD are also seen in multiple sclerosis (MS) and autoimmune neuropathy. Hence, these two conditions should be ruled out. Treatment is through prednisolone, immunoglobulins and plasma exchange.
Take care!
