MY SON 26 YRS OLD DEVELOPED OPTIC NEURITES 6 WEEKS BACK
FINDINGS
MRI CONTRAST BRAIN NORMAL
MRI CONTRAST SPINE NORMAL
VEP NORMAL
BAER NORMAL
SSEP NORMAL
ANA NEGATIVE
RX: 3 DAY PREDNISOLONE X 1 mg / day x 3 days
      oral PREDINOSOLONE 80 MG DAILY X 3 DAYS TO 20 MG DAILY DOSE
THE PATIENT COMPLAINS LEFT LEG WEEKNESS WITH MILD BALANCE DISORDER
NEUROLOGIST RULED OUT POSSIBILITY OF MS AND DIAGONSED HIM FOR CIS
please advice follow up procedure for future to avoid further relapses

Hopefully the doctor suggested to follow-up in the next 3-6 months to get the MRI's repeated? (If the MRI's were his first) MS is never ruled out, because he has a chance of developing MS in the future due to having optic neuritis.

How was the optic neuritis diagnosed with the tests being normal? That's the only thing I don't understand. My apologies if I missed something. May I ask what his symptoms are or were with the optic neuritis?
