concerned about twitching

by lost29, Aug 18, 2008 11:06PM
Hi
Im a 35 year old female who apart from the odd tendancy to stress is relatively healthy. About 3 weeks ago I had a muscle twitch in my left hand which lasted for 2 weeks.  That is now gone however I know have little muscle twitches all over my body including calf, feet, back, head and stomach.  They dont last long only a couple of seconds each, but after reading about ALS I am extremely worried that this could be the start of it! Any information would help me thanks

Hi,

How are you?
Muscle twitching can be seen in excessive anxiety, stress, and sleep deprivation. Another cause is fibromyalgia which is characterized by muscle twitching and fatigue.
I would suggest you to relax and make sure you get full nights sleep and if your symptoms still persist please get yourself evaluated.  Take care!
