contractions/tremor

by Fabrizio, Jun 06, 2002 12:00AM
I always had slight hand-shaking for 3 years now but I never worried about it because they never bothered me for any activity, but 3 weaks ago I started getting really bad shaking on my head and hands and as a regular pot user for 3 years last week i started getting really bad contractions all over my body except my feet and down part of my legs when I smoked pot and they ceased after I wasnt "high" anymore.

I've never had those contractions before in my 3 years of use of marijuana and Im also a regular ecstasy user(every month) and took ecstasy past weekend and on the following week was when the marijuana related contractions started but not on the following day of the use of ecstasy it was 3 days later, I only feel those marijuana related muscle contractions when I'm sitting or laying down, when I'm moving I dont get any contractions at all, and I also recently started taking bamifix and symbicort(inhaller) for asthma treatment(3 weeks, same time when my tremors got worse).I ceased taking bamixfix for 4 days now and those contractions still come after I smoke marijuana though the head tremors got better.

Please help me

Thanx

Fabrizio

Asthma inhalers/meds especially albuterol are well known to cause tremor or worsen existing tremors as well as muscle twitching. This is also true for steroids and steroid inhalers. If you need the medications for your asthma, you'll have to work something out with your primary care doc to find the optimal dose of medication without significant adverse effects. Drug use of course is your choice, but I can't imagine the marijuana is helping the asthma. Finally, ecstasy is also well known to cause neurological side effects such as tremor and twitching, especially if it's impure or tainted with unknown agents. If you can, try stopping the drugs for a while and see if your symptoms disappear when you're clean.
