contusion brain

I was assaulted july 4th and received a contusion to the brain.  Severe headaches, vision problems ect.  Over the last couple of weeks my balance has been off and the headaches have returned.  On the 6th day now of a headache.  Not migrane (migraine), as I have had them since I was 19.  I am 53 now.  These are different.  The doctor told me I could experience the headaches for up to 6 months.  The problem is with my balance and tonight my left side of my face has become numb, from my brow to my lower jaw.  They feel fat, if that makes any sense.  Like when you go to the dentist.  The veins in my temple stick way out from the headache, but when the numbness started the headache eased for a brief moment.  Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Hi,

How are you?
Cerebral contusion is a form of bruise of the brain tissue. The injury can result in a decline of mental function, weakness, numbness, aphasia, motor and sensory problems.
Cerebral contusion results in swelling in the brain and the main aim of treatment are prevention of brain swelling. Sometimes surgery may be necessary.
You need to be under intensive observation for the next few days and a thorough clinical evaluation is necessary.
Take care!
