could i have low vitamin b 12

when i went to the hospital doctor told me b12 and thyroid came back abnormal.when iwent to my family doctor he said they were fine.symptoms were not feeling like myself, dizzy, walking like i was drunk.years before this i started having memory issues and my face would turn red all the time.i couldnt finish a sentence, when i filled out a form one day i couldnt remember my birthday-abnormal memeory issues.doctor said that was probably anxiety.but i dealt with it.so nowadays i just have balance problems when i first wake up or in the dark.it'll last for a couple weeks and come back.when i wake up sometimes im worried i might smash into the tv while im walking.sometimes ive leaned so much i ended up well not falling on the bed but landing on the bed.had numbness in my legs and burning went away after a couple weeks.now i feel i have numbness in my hands.but this numbness thing im not sure if its just in my head or not.i felt my hands were numb and joked about it to someone and im not sure if now since after that im just being paranoid or not.also feel extremely tired all the time, feel like i have the flu a lot mostly because my stomach feels aweful-but not like nauseaus just not well like i dont want to move because i feel so aweful.

What are your thyroid and B12 lab results?

Based on your symptoms it is very possible to be due to vitamin B12 deficiency. This deficiency is highly misdiagnosed due to far too low a reference range. Some doctors know symptoms occur in low normal ranges however. I watch a mystery diagnosis episode of a neurologist who suspected autoimmune pernicious anaemia but with vitamin B12 still in range but under 400pg/mL. In Japan and Europe the lowest acceptable level is 500 or 550pg/mL. Being in the low range is never optimal for good health however so levels are recommended to be far higher.

Hypothyroidism is another highly misdiagnosed condition due to the TSH test. This test can be "normal" with plenty of hypothyroid symptoms. Again, some doctors know this. The AACE recommends the TSH range to be 0.3 - 3.0mU/L but not all labs use this range.  Other tests include free T4, free T3, Reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies - thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb).
