Please help me out i had carpal tunnel surgery 2 years ago.Today like every other day my hands fill swollen,muscles are very tender and most of all i have electric shocks all the time when bending the wrists!My hands before surgery were sore and swollen and tingles.I still have tingles when my hands are upwards for a minute the tingles start all over again.
problems are: muscles in both hands sore tender.
electric shocks all the time when bending wrists.
on my palm right hand dominant across the palm into the first finger there is some weird pain there,right threw the middle of palm up into the finger.No strenght i have lost strenght to the right hand i was told atleast 20 pounds grip.I hurt my back in 1990 i was swinging a hammer to chip away at some cement i swung hard and felt this horrific pain fell to my knees could not move!.Could not breath chest also tightened up like a belt was tightened around me.Stayed off work for awhile to try and find out what is wrong.My back is still to this day the same way it was when i first got injured with my back,then i reaggraveted over and over ,stretching sometime will make my back go into sever spasms!finally have taken ct scan nothing wrong ?I find out the other day the ct-scan was taken in the wrong area of my back!I hurt the middle of my back and they have taken pictures of only my lower back,this was pointed out to me from my chiro my injury was to my middle area and it is still there! My hands are getting nowhere they are worse.I take alot of meds for pain.chiro say sublaxation therary
please help!!!!!

I would recommend that you see a neurologist for evaluation. You need to have a EMG/NCS (muslce/nerve test) to better define what is wrong with your hand. If you had a EMG before the first surgery, it should be compared to that. If you can have a MRI of the cervical and thoracic spines it may better visualize any abnormalities. It may be possible to have a disc problem in the lower cervical cord which is producing hand weakness and pain in the back. This is a reaonable first step. Good luck.

sure sounds like your having a rough time.  I was diagnosed with carple tunnel in both hands years ago.  The md's suggested surgery, but my brother-in-law, who is a chiropractor, suggested some chiropractic methods to try first.  He said give it a month and if it didn't work then go ahead with the surgery.  So thats what I did and boy am I glad I did!  The first few sessions were very painful but by the third week I had gained all my strength in my hands back!  I would guess that your Chiropractor is pretty good if he was the one who figured out where you injury is in your back.  Maybe you should run with that and see if he can help?  Just be sure you give it some time.  Remember that the injury has been there for a while and it will take awhile for it to straighten out.  It also will seem like your in more pain after the first few adjustments, but if you use ice packs (not heat) after the adjustments and maybe some Ibuprophen it should help. The chiro should also be able to show you some good excercises to help with the muscle reconditioning in your back. I don't know if I have been of any help but good luck.

I would suggest that you stop seeing the chiropracter and see a neurologist and also begin some physical therapy. Manipulating the spine of someone who already has severe problems can actually rupture discs...it happened to me. I have had several neck and lumbar surgeries and most recently a double lumbar fusion (ALIF). It sounds as though you have something wrong with C4-C5 or C5-C6 and you son't want to mess around with it. When a chiro x-rays you, they only see degenerate narrowing of the disc space (bone only) but MRI's show nerves, disc, tissues, etc. and chiropractors don't do MRIs, only x-rays. I had the same problems with my hands and I had a torn ligament, disc problems, and narrowing of the foramina at C4-C5. I had surgery 3 years ago and my neck and hands are fine! Please...see a specialist before you have more damage.
