csf leak

by tedfields, Mar 14, 2009 07:39PM
I started having clear fluid coming from my ear lately after having my ear doctor put in a tube to drain fluid from my ear.  The clear fluid was diagnosed as csf after being send to lab.  I received a ct scan and it was found that I have bone damage on both ears allowing csf to leak in my ears. I need any information about this.  I have never had any head trauma that could have caused this.  I am a 50 y/o male.  My doctor says I need to have surgery to repair the leaks as soon as possible.  What surgery would I need, recovery time and consequences?
