Hi,

A cyst is a closed sac having a distinct membrane and is separated by the tissue surrounding it. They may contain air, fluids, or semi-solid material. Cysts could go away by itself or will have to be removed using surgery. Many cysts in the body are benign and is the result of plugged ducts or other natural body outlets for secretions. However, a few are tumors or are produced within tumors, and are potentially malignant. A tumor, on the other hand, is the name for a swelling or lesion formed by an abnormal growth of cells. I hope this helps.  All the best on your MRI results.Take care and keep us posted.
