cystic enchepalomalacia

cystic enchepalomalacia

My daugter is 3 months old.  Her history is that at 19 weeks she was diagnosed with congenital diaphragamatic hernia.  It was severe with most of her organs being up in her chest.  She was born  by EXIT to EXMO, which means she was placed directly on a hearly lung bypass machine where she stayed for the first 15 days of her life.  While on ECMO signs of seizure activity were seen and treated with medication.  About a week after coming off ECMO onto a ventilator the seizure medication was stopped.  No evidence of seizures have been seen since. She is now at say of life 95 and we had her first CT scan, the results indicated a focal encephalomlacia involving a large fraction of the territiry supplied by the left middle cerebral artery in the left frontal lobe andinto parts of the left insula and probally lateral aspect of theleft basal ganglia. The entire left cerebral hemisphere is smaller than the right.  She is active and alert, she tracks objects and faces, she smiles and responds to auditory stimuli.  What does this finding men in terms of her long term development?
