developed nervous jolts

For the last 2 months i have been getting these nervous jolts, its started off as hypnic jerks when i tried to fall asleep.I still have those,  im only getting roughly 3hrs asleep a night, but now im getting them in the day time as well, but not so severe. I also started getting these pin like  stabbing feelings  in my toes and fingers, when they occur my hole arm or leg will jump. Im not sure the cause of these. I do have sleep apnea and sometime i have to take  nyquil to sleep or  sedatives, could this cause this problem (lack of oxygen to the brain)??? i hope it goes away and i dont have permanent damage--- anyone experience this?? Just off topic- before this all started my doc started me on lipitor and i also took celexa for about 2 weeks, i thought this was the prob and quit taking  it but  it hasnt cleared the prob yet. I sure hope this goes away and i can get back to my normal sleep routine-  because this is pure hell. Thanks any comments apprec!!
