dilantin and ativan?

by paulzip, Jan 31, 2008 11:03PM
I am taking 390 mg of dilantin (half am/half pm) to conrol seizures.  Would taking 1.5 or 2 mg of ativan effect my dilantin level?

According to www.whatmeds.com/meds/lorazepam.html ativan can cause Dilantin blood levels to change.  Also, from my own personal experience, Ativan really should only be used in the hospital, as it is unbelievably addictive, and it causes tremendous digestive system upset, and within just a few months, if you go off it, you will go through horrendous withdrawals.  I'd look into another tranquilizer.
