dizzy and bad headaches from disk problem

After 53 years of no headaches, for the past 2 months I have had sick, dizzy headaches. I had carotid artery surgery 1 mth ago and nerurologist suspected that lack of blood flow was cause. Headaches continued. A neck MRI showed a deterioration of disck C5/C6 with some spinal stenosis. My neck is stiff, some arthritus the orthopedic said, and he said teh headaches 'could' be caused from this condition. Sent me to physical therapy. So far, the therapy is wonderful while there, but headaches continue and almost seem worse. Would steroid injections help? I've only seen the doctor at the 'non surgical orthopedic center' once. I will go back soon. Also have some termor in the neck/head if I do not change positions while sleeping. While laying down on my back I feel some pressure in neck and back of head feels like pressure is there, headache starts until I turn to the side. Any thoughts?
